Morgan Halley, DVM
Lead Veterinarian
About Me
Dr. Morgan Halley ("Dr. Mo") brings over a decade of expertise in shelter medicine and spay/neuter surgery to her new role. Her journey in animal care began at just 21 years old as a wildlife rehabilitation volunteer at the Peninsula Humane Society in the California Bay Area. This early experience fostered her lifelong appreciation for wildlife, especially squirrels, songbirds, owls, and swifts.
Dr. Halley expanded her focus to small animal medicine and surgery while attending veterinary school at UC Davis, where she collaborated with several TNR and low-income veterinary programs serving the Sacramento and Davis communities. Since graduating, she has worked with three animal shelters in the Southeast and served as a county veterinarian in two states. She has a passion for high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN), population health, and soft tissue surgery.
Beyond her professional work, Dr. Halley has a rich array of interests. A self-proclaimed “microbe monarch,” she enjoys crafting sourdough, brewing kombucha, and exploring the art of fermentation. She and her wife share their home with three dogs, guinea pigs, bees, ducks, and chickens, along with numerous symbiotic colonies of yeast and bacteria. Dr. Halley also has a love for gardening, classical and jazz piano (with over 25 years of experience), and dancing styles like swing, salsa, and rumba. When she’s not pursuing her hobbies, she’s hard at work restoring a 120-year-old bungalow with historic precision.
Now calling the Gulf Coast home, Dr. Halley is thrilled to join A HOPE and contribute to its mission of expanding access to affordable, high-quality veterinary care in this vibrant and deserving community.
