Jon Green is a former naval aviator and retired business executive from California. He is married with a daughter, two stepchildren and three granddaughters. He received a degree in Psychology from UCSB and after graduation entered the US Navy flight training program. Upon completion of active duty, he transferred to the naval reserve and obtained an MBA from Santa Clara University. He then worked for the public accounting firm of Coopers & Lybrand to obtain his California CPA certificate. Having a strong desire to work in operations and a well-established background stemming from his time in the navy, he worked his way through a number of Silicon Valley companies, primarily in the digital test and measurement equipment industry, in positions from Controller to VP Finance, VP Manufacturing and ultimately COO.

As a member of the naval reserve, he was assigned to a squadron attached to one of the two tactical reserve air wings in the US Navy, eventually screening for command to become its commanding officer. He completed his navy career as commanding officer of the reserve component of the Naval Strike Warfare Center in Fallon, NV.

His volunteer activities for animal welfare organizations started in California where he began by assisting his wife, primarily with transport and adoption events, in her various volunteer functions for CARE and Toy Breed Rescue in San Jose, CA. Because of his lifelong love of pets and an inability to say no, along with the free time available after his naval service, his commitment to animal welfare became a duty which he has tried to fulfill ever since. After retiring to Florida, he volunteered for Animal Allies Florida for a number of years before being introduced to A HOPE in 2020 by his sister who was its volunteer coordinator. His background in finance complemented A HOPE’s need at the time to upgrade its financial systems and he was made treasurer shortly thereafter.
